A Laharum player is alleged to have made racist remarks to two Natimuk United players.
Western Vic Football general manager Stephen McQueen said the complaint had been received, but under AFL policy guidelines he could not comment on any details surrounding the case.
Under the AFL Victoria vilification and discrimination policy, league complaints officers will collect statements and other relevant evidence from witnesses and appoint a conciliator.
If the complaint is not resolved through conciliation, it will be referred to an investigation officer.
Wimmera residents voiced their opinions on the Mail-Times Facebook page after it was reported on Monday that Natimuk United was preparing to submit a complaint.
