Athletes qualified after competing at the Greater Western Secondary Cross Country Carnival at Hamilton on Friday.
Twelve students qualified in each age group.
Two Wimmera athletes enjoyed wins – St Brigid’s College student Aleesha Robertson in the 17-20 years girls section, and Stawell Secondary College’s Tom Walker in the 14 years boys section.
Another Stawell student, Natasha Reading, recorded a third-placed finish in the 15 years girls section.
Wimmera state qualifiers
9-10 years girls: Ellie Meagher, St Arnaud Primary School.
9-10 years boys: Brodie Pope, Horsham West Primary School.
11 years girls: Jesse Bligh, Ararat West Primary School; Hailey Puls, Horsham West Primary School; Ella Walsgott, Horsham Primary School.
11 years boys: Darcy Reid, Birchip P-12 College; Ben Hobbs Horsham West Primary School.
Boys 9-12 years athletes with disabilities: Sabian Panozzo, Holy Trinity Lutheran School.
13 years girls: Tarlie McCartney, Holy Trinity Lutheran School; Jasmine Talbot, Horsham College.
13 years boys: Sean McKenzie, Warracknabeal Secondary College.
14 years girls: Mikah Hughes, Horsham College.
14 years boys: Tom Walker and Josh Kelley, Stawell Secondary College.
15 years girls: Natasha Reading, Stawell Secondary College; Maddie Forcoul, Horsham College; Shae-Lea Fischer, Nhill College.
16 years boys: Mark Polycarpou, Dimboola Secondary College; Gary Alderson, Stawell Secondary College.
