Kurt Margetts bought a ticket for a Woolworths and Victoria Police fundraiser for Ride for the Kids.
Tickets for the raffle were sold at Safeway and Woolworths supermarkets in Horsham, Stawell, Ararat, Ballarat, Colac, Camperdown, Warrnambool, Hamilton and Maryborough.
Mr Margetts said he was delighted to become a Harley owner.
“It feels really good. I can’t wait to get on it,” he said.
Ride for the Kids will see a group of Victoria Police and Woolworths employees riding 1000 kilometres in eight days to raise money for ‘Cops N Kids’ camps.
Mr Margetts said he bought a few tickets at Safeway Horsham.
“I’ve never won anything in my life,” he said.
Mr Margetts has a motorbike licence and is an experienced rider.
He said he was looking forward to getting on his Harley.
“I just love the look and the sound it has about it,” he said.
Mr Margetts said he was planning some long rides once he got acquainted with the 2013 1200 CA model, which is valued at more than $18,000.
“Probably once I get it all running, I will be going on a bit of trip on it,” he said.
“I’ve still got to get a few destinations worked out.”
Mr Margetts said he was happy he could help out a good cause.
