LAWN BOWLS
MATTHEW Flapper and Brett Wilkie chalked up another win in the men's fours.
They defeated Malaysia 16-10 to remain unbeaten after two rounds.
While the margin was significant, Australians were pushed down to the wire.
After trailing 4-1, Malaysia fought back impressively to tie up the match at 7-all after nine ends.
Flapper, Wilkie, Nathan Rice and Wayne Ruediger looked in complete control at 14-8 after 13 ends.
However, Malaysia struck back with two shots on the penultimate end.
Then in the 15th and last end with its last bowl Malaysia went up four shots - enough to level the match.
Flapper then played the shot of the day to get Australia home.
Flapper and Wilkie is each striving to make amends for disappointing finishes to their triples and pairs events respectively.
Flapper missed a medal after reaching the semi-finals unbeaten, while Wilkie bowed out in the quarter finals.
NOT such a happy outcome for Tim Slater in the para open triples.
Australia lost to South Africa 21-9.
