Part of the shire - including its biggest city, Stawell - is in the marginal seat of Ripon which rests on a knife's edge ahead of the election.
Cr Murray Emerson said he believed the trip was already delivering outcomes.
"The proof is in the pudding and we've already had some announcements made since we've been to parliament house," he said.
"I am very confident there'll be more announcements before November 29."
Cr Wayne Rice said the meeting was with politicians from the government and opposition.
"I believe - and I might be slightly biased here - we made a very good impression with out politicians from all persuasions," he said.
"They listened to us, they asked questions and they took notes and I'm sure they've gone away and they now know the Northern Grampians Shire exists."
Councillors used a council meeting on Monday to repeatedly defend their expenses following the publication of a letter in another Fairfax paper which accused them of wasting ratepayers money.
Cr Karen Hyslop said the trip to parliament was inexpensive.
"It wasn't a huge expense to ratepayers I think it was very well received," she said.
Cr Merrilee Reed said it was a brilliant event.
"I think we presented ourselves well - if they didn't know Northern Grampians before they do now," she said.
