Horsham Fire Brigade appeal co-ordinator Ray Carman said trucks and volunteers from Horsham Fire Brigade, District 17 headquarters and Jung Fire Brigade would be involved.
He said the group would aim to beat last year’s fundraising effort of about $24,000.
All money raised will go towards equipment, research and education to support the work of the hospital.
‘‘We’re hoping to raise $30,000,’’ Mr Carman said.
He said nine trucks and about 80 firefighters and families, along with the Horsham Junior Development Brigade, would leave Horsham Fire Station at 9am to start the collection.
People will also walk the streets with collection tins.
Mr Carman said the trucks would cover Horsham, Haven, Riverside and Longerenong for the National Gem and Mineral Show.
‘‘Anyone who misses a fire truck can go to a fire station between 8am and 4pm to make a donation,’’ he said.
He said people who missed the trucks could also call him on 0429 340 000 to organise for money to be collected.
