Cobram's Chris Thomas has smashed the world record for highest number of bowls clubs played at by an individual in a one-year period.
Daylesford's Frank Peniguel has the official record of 670 games at different clubs.
Mr Thomas has already bypassed the record with Horsham West Bowls Club being his 704th match and Horsham City Bowls Club his 705th.
He has also played matches at Aradale Bowls Club, Ararat Bowls Club, Chalambar Bowling Club, Stawell Golf Bowling Club and Stawell Bowling Club.
He started halfway through 2014.
Not only is Mr Thomas an avid bowls player but he is also trying to raise awareness and money for a good cause.
"My dad passed away from prostate cancer two years ago," he said.
He said his father was also a keen bowler.
Mr Thomas has been selling shirts with blue and pink ribbons on the front and collecting money for the Cancer Council.
So far he has raised more than $32,000 for the charity.
Mr Thomas started his bowls campaign at Tweed Heads, NSW, on July 1 last year.
He continued on to south-east Queensland, the NSW coast, Canberra, north-eastern Victoria, Tasmania and is making his way west towards South Australia.
Mr Thomas said he would then head back to northern Victoria to play his last match in Cobram.
"It's been very good, I've seen a lot of the country and a lot of bowls greens," he said.
Mr Thomas said for the matches to count he had to play against a club member and have two witnesses.
He faced Horsham City Bowls Club member Goven Bellinger for his 705th match.
He hopes to play his final match on his home turf on June 30 before officially sending the Guinness World Records his final tally.
Mr Thomas said people could keep track of his journey or donate by searching for the Chris Will For Cancer page of Facebook.
