The team will be at home on Horsham City Oval for the third straight year, and playing coach Shannon Argall said the team was excited to take the field.
‘‘Interleague is always an exciting weekend, and it’s been a few years since we’ve had such a competitive field in the selection process,’’ he said.
‘‘There were a few that unfortunately had to miss out, but those who did get in are raring to go represent the league.’’
Among those who did get in are several speedy utilities.
The midfield will have pace to burn, with Harrow-Balmoral’s Callum Hobbs in the middle and Swifts duo Scott Carey and Sean Mantell on the wings.
Carey, an experienced interleague campaigner who has been brilliant this season, has been named captain of the side.
Roo Scott Heath is another speedster who will provide rebound from half-back, and Kalkee’s Matt Magee has been named at centre half-back but can also push forward.
Reliable Rupanyup veteran Paul Trotter is named at full back, with Tyler Edelsten and Louis Papst in the back pockets.
Edeldsten and Nathan Cocks, named on the interchange bench, will represent new side Jeparit-Rainbow.
Harrow-Balmoral’s Mick Phelan has been named at centre half-forward and will change with Argall in the ruck.
It will be an all-Laharum on-ball brigade, with Argall, big-bodied Todd Heynen and Robbie Miller named as followers.
Last year’s best on ground Deek Roberts will be dangerous in a forward pocket and can also go onto the ball.
Edenhope-Apsley utility Dave McLeish is another who can do some damage on the scoreboard, coming off a six-goal haul at the weekend.
Rupanyup co-coach David Lang has been named on a forward flank, with Pimpinio’s Daniel Baker manning the other flank.
Jordan Huff from Noradjuha-Quantong will start at full-forward.
Natimuk United is the only team not represented in the side.
‘‘Flexibility is our biggest atribute – we’ve got guys who can play in a variety of positions,’’ Argall said.
‘‘Ben Harrison can play forward, middle or back, Todd Heynen can play in the middle or as a key forward, Matt Magee can play forward and back and we’ve got a real running brigade of on-ballers.’’
Argall said Scott Carey’s appointment as captain was well deserved.
‘‘He’s always the first one to put up his hand. He travels up from Stawell and doesn’t miss training,’’ he said.
