It's going to be another chilly one today with a top of 19 and a chance of showers.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Horsham Sports and Community Club manager Glenn Carroll has emphasised there will be no changes to the current operations of the club in the next two years despite its $6.7-million outlay on poker machine licences this month. The club bought 40 machines in a pre-auction club offer for $50,225 each and 38 machines during a State Government gaming auction for $125,539 each. The purchase has secured the club a 10-year contract for the use of the machines from 2012 and there will be no financial obligations to Tattersalls, which currently shares in a third of the gaming income.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
"We can support this all we like but I think we're getting softened up for a donation at the end of the day," - West Wimmera councillor Bruce Meyer on a public transport study for Western Victoria.
