Donald led by 13 points at quarter-time when the two sides met in round seven, but conceded six goals to zero in the second term.
Missed chances also plagued the Royal Blues in that match, as they booted 8.17 to go down by 20 points.
Coach Luke Fisher said his side believed in itself.
"The last time we played them it was the top-of-the-table-clash as well," he said.
"While we lost last time we know we can be competitive. It didn't really affect us, and I think we'll come out really confident at the weekend."
Fisher will return after missing round 13 because of Vic Country commitments.
Fisher said an omission had not been decided yet.
St Arnaud will move potentially three games clear on top if it wins and Charlton unexpectedly loses to Boort.
In the round's other match, Wedderburn faces Wycheproof-Narraport, while Birchip-Watchem has a bye.
