Prep students planted 20 native trees at the 298 campus for Planet Ark’s Schools Tree Day in July.
Teacher Sian Blohm said the activity was a part of the school’s science, sustainability and design technology program.
She said the school tried to promote recycling and sustainability wherever possible.
Ms Blohm said the students enjoyed the activity.
"They really enjoyed digging the holes, putting up the tree guards and watering the plants," she said.
Ms Blohm said it was also an opportunity for the pupils to learn about gardening and plant maintenance.
She said the pupils would be responsible for the garden throughout their time at the school.
"They're very proud,” she said.
"This is a garden they get to look after.
“By grade six some of the plants will be taller than them.”
