HORSHAM defeated Saints 30-18 in the 15 and under B Grade grand final at Warracknabeal on Saturday.
After a tight first half, Horsham held a narrow three-goal lead at half-time.
Saints’ Anesu Gororo was named best on court after a terrific effort for the losing side.
She was moved to goal defence late in the game as the Saints tried to find an edge but spent most of her time at centre where she was a shining light for her side.
During the third term the Demons shot away and took an unassailable 23-17.
There was a real battle at mid-court where Horsham was able to exert its dominance in the second-half.
The Saints struggled to find open team-mates while Horsham’s pressure forced turnovers.
At both ends the defenders made the shooters work hard and earn every possession.
The physical contest saw a number of players sent flying, but in the end it was the bigger-bodied Horsham players who were able to last longer during the match.
The Saints made a number of position changes as they went into the last term in an effort to turn the game around.
It made no difference though as Horsham put their foot down and extended their lead for a big win.
