BIRCHIP-Watchem will be the first team to take on newcomers Sea Lake-Nandaly Tigers in the expanded North Central Football League next year. The 2016 league fixture is yet to be officially released, but the competition has been slated for an April 16 start.

The league has grown from seven clubs to eight following the admission of the Tigers from the Mallee Football League.
With the competition increasing to eight clubs, the league will revert from what has been a 19-round competition where each club has three byes, to 16 rounds.
As well as Birchip-Watchem v Sea Lake-Nandaly, other round one games next year are likely to be St Arnaud v Charlton, Wedderburn v Wycheproof-Narraport and Donald v Boort.
