Framing the Wimmera was officially launched by the governor Wednesday morning.
Frames have been installed at Natimuk-Frances Road near Natimuk,Three Bridges Road in Horsham, Brimpaen-Laharum Road near Brimpaen and on the Toolondo reservoir foreshore.
The frames present views of four iconic Wimmera landscapes, Mt Arapiles, Toolondo reservoir, the Grampians and the Wimmera River.
Greg Pritchard was the conceptual artist for the project.
Dónal Molloy-Drum created the four metal frames.
Horsham Rural City Council cultural development officer Jillian Pearce said the launch was well attended.
She said the governor was impressed with the concept.
“She seemed to really like the artwork and spoke at length to the artists,” she said.
“It’s such a simple concept but it can engage you in such a beautiful and meaningful way.
“Everything I have heard about the project has been really positive.”
Ms Pearce said the finishing touch to the project would be bench seats at the Toolondo, Grampians and Wimmera River sites.
She said these would be installed in the coming weeks.
Ms Pearce said a series of postcards of each view would also be available either at the end of the year or early next year.
She said people could go to visithorsham.com.au for more information.
