The happy grandparents, who wish to remain anonymous, said retirement was now in their sights following the $207,714.12 win on Saturday night.
“It’s fabulous. I scanned our ticket with the app and checked it at least six times!” the winning woman exclaimed.
“I’ve had butterflies in my stomach ever since.
“It will definitely set us up well for retirement which is in much closer in reach than before. We will travel around Australia in a caravan and we may just never come back,” she said.
The winning couple purchased their 12-game marked entry from Harris Newsagency in Ararat.
John Harris, owner of Harris Newsagency, said he was very pleased to have sold another division one winning entry.
“We’ve seen our fair share of winners over the 35 years we’ve been in business, but it’s always great to get another division one win,” Mr Harris said.
“It’s marvellous. We really see the business pick up once news gets around that we sold a division one winning entry to one of our customers. News like that will spread like wildfire in a place like Ararat.”
