The government last week pledged $36.8 million in the 2016-17 budget to build new stations in regional Victoria.
Budget papers released on Wednesday confirmed funding to replace outdated stations at Murtoa, Colac, Bright, Warburton, Mallacoota, Cowes and Corryong.
The government has not released specific amounts for each station.
Northern Grampians Inspector Ian Lindsay told the Mail-Times last week a Murtoa station upgrade was vital.
He said the station was an old portable, similar to a classroom.
Mr Lindsay also called for the Warracknabeal Police Station to be upgraded as well, but no money was allocated in the budget.
