The veteran started played for the Leeor colts in the mid 1980s at age 11. Tuckwell played his first senior game for Leeor in 1990.
He went on to play for Kaniva-Leeor United following the 1997 amalgamation of the two clubs. In 1988, Tuckwell won his first and only premiership with the junior colts and was leading goal kicker with the seniors in 1990.
In his 300 games with the Cougars, Tuckwell has accumulated numerous achievements, including three reserves best and fairest awards. He is the current coach of the reserves team.
In 2009 he was the A Grade captain.
In 2012 he was captain of the reserves and became a life member of the league.
Tuckwell said he was proud to have finally reached the 300 mark.
“Kaniva-Leeor United is a great little community, we’ve had our ups and downs but we stick together,” he said.
Tuckwell said he would love to retire soon and continue coaching.
“It’s great to see the kids wanting to play and to pass things on,” he said.
Kaniva-Leeor United currently sits eighth on the the Kowree-Naracoorte-Tatiara Football League ladder.
The Cougars face Padthaway in round seven on Saturday.
