Schultz, previously a Horsham Demon, is now playing with Northcote Park in the Northern Football League.
He was among a Vic Metro squad of 24 named on Wednesday, trimmed from an initial squad of 47 players.
Schultz said the side was primed for a victory.
“The coaching staff have been brilliant. We are confident,” he said.
“My form, as one of the older guys getting around, is going well.
“I had a bit of a disruption at the start of the year when I busted my thumb but I’ve overcome that now.
“I’ve got the same level of fitness I had when I played at a state level. I think I’ve still got the leg speed.”
Schultz, as humble and as family-orientated as ever, said despite his many achievements throughout the years, his biggest one was getting to play senior football with his brother.
“I’ve had the medals and played with many different squads but it all comes back to that,” he said.
“I’ve got memories of looking back on that and the journey. Footy is an amazing thing, it’s important not to take it and life for granted.”
Sunday’s senior match for the 2016 AFL Victoria Community Cup will be played at Waterview Reserve in Mernda from 2pm.
