Jamboree is a basketball development program which focuses on under-12 athletes, young coaches and up-and-coming referees.
Joel Freijah is the only player selected to represent in the boys team.
The girls team boasts several Horsham representatives, including Ashley Ellis, Jessie Lakin, Grace Manserra and Eloise Wills.
Sabaya Woods has been selected from the Ararat Basketball Association.
240 young female and male athletes were selected following an under-12 skills day which broke attendance records.
Basketball Victoria Country’s referee development officer Karin Berrysmith said the event was an important pathway for developing the next elite level referees.
“Victorian Basketball is recognised for our pathways and our commitment to developing referees,” she said.
“We have a significant plan to continue to develop grass roots basketball and that includes the recruitment, retention and development of referees as well as providing opportunities to enter the elite referee pathways.”
