The St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria is celebrating one of the fashion world’s most timeless trends, denim, as part of the event at more than 100 Vinnies shops across the state.
“All our volunteers are encouraged to dress in denim,” store manager Heather Gardner said.
“We’ve participated for the past couple of years. The focus is on different ways to wear denim.
“Everyone got really into it last year. Hopefully they will again on Friday.”
Denim is one of the most coveted finds at Vinnies shops.
Denim-inspired trends are often recycled many decades after they have left the runway, which is why op shops like Vinnies are excellent places to discover denim with character.
“It’s really what Vinnies does, focus on different types of fashion,” Mrs Gardner said.
This week, Vinnies shops are displaying a gallery of #denspiration to celebrate the worn and torn fabric in all its forms.
Wimmera residents are encouraged to step out in their favourite denim outfit and visit Vinnies to join the fun, with wild outfits welcome.
