Mr Surridge said the event taught students endurance, resilience, problem solving and brought them together as a team.
He said the school’s senior team would race its hybrid energy efficient vehicles for 24 hours, with students to take on pit crew and driver roles.
“There’s a lot of initiative,” he said. “The kids really need to problem solves as thing come up, there’s a lot of rebuilding along the way.
“It’s very hands on. A year eight student has done a modern design on the outside of the car.”
Mr Surridge said the initiative was an important way to teach students about sustainability.
