The Eagles led from start to finish against Dimboola to run out 16.14 (110) to 7.6 (48) winners.
Warrack Eagles coach Ryan McKenzie was pleased with the performance.
“We moved the ball really well from defence all the way into the forward line,” he said
“That was something we had put in a whole lot of work into during pre-season, so that was pleasing.”
Kieran Ellis put in a lot of hard work and was named best on ground for the Eagles.
“He is one of our travelling players who played for us last season,” McKenzie said.
“He has come back to us extremely fit and his skills were a class above on Saturday.”
Jarrod Kemp and Will Richardson both made their senior debuts in the winning side. Kemp was among his side’s best players.
McKenzie said it was great to have young local boys coming up through the club.
“They both did really well,” he said.
“It is exciting to have kids come into the team, it is especially exciting for them to have come through the club.”
Despite the clear win, the McKenzie identified areas the side will need to continue to add polish to in the coming rounds.
“We conceded a couple of easy goals that we were not pleased about,” he said
“So there is a need to look at a couple of things defensively, we are obviously going to concede goals but it should not be as simple as a couple of them.”
