Team manager Jennifer Klinge said the team had prepared well for the preliminary finals.
It was the team’s first competition of the year but the girls had been practising since December.
“We had our hopes up that we would do well,” Klinge said.
“A few of the girls had been before but there was a couple of new faces in the team.”
Briney Wright was a lone year six student in the team of seven.
She was joined by year five students Sophie Pietsch, Sophie Parish and Armani Scollary.
Year four students Jaya Meadows, Stephanie Wundke and Charlotte Cookson completed the seven-girl team.
Klinge said Meagan Silvers helped her manage the team and thanked coach Amanda Wik for her efforts.
“She volunteers her time and her studio to teach the team,” she said.
“The girls have worked very hard inside and outside of school to improve.”
The team will travel back to Geelong for the state finals on June 3.
