Migrant support group Oasis Wimmera hosted a cake making workshop on Sunday.
Group president Pragya Kant said about 45 people attended.
She said the day was open to all migrants in the region and they made about 25 cakes. “All the children helped make chocolate ripple cream cakes,” she said.
“We demonstrated how they were made and provided all the ingredients. People were able to make cakes of different shapes and sizes and decorate them however they liked.”
Ms Kant said the children had a lot of fun.
“We are all families that have come to Australia and this workshop was a chance for children to learn more about culture and interact with the Wimmera community,” she said.
“It also showed them the best and easiest way to make something for their mums on Mother’s Day.”
The workshop was at The Salvation Army kitchen in Horsham.
