Each side will return to the ground after heavy losses and will look to this week as a redemption round.
The Lakers were hit with another blow after Jack McRae went down with a shoulder injury against Harrow-Balmoral last weekend.
Lakers coach Jye Smith said injuries within the team had meant junior and reserve players were given a taste of senior football.
“It’s good in the way that the junior boys just want to play senior footy,” he said.
The side will also be without the likes of Sam Turmine, Addison Milner and Jeames Offer.
“Marc Davey has been solid this season and he gives so much more in games than just skill. He’s a leader and the boys really look up to him,” Smith said.
Smith knows it will be a task against Kalkee.
“We know we will be competitive, even if the scoreboard shows it or not,” he said.
Kees coach Hamish Exell said he hoped the side could get back to three wins and three losses.
“I thought we played well for one half (against Southern Mallee Giants) last week. Our aim will be to stick to our style. We have been running and carrying the ball well,” he said.
Exell said the side was working on backing teammates in contests.
“Daniel Schache has been playing some consistent footy this month,” he said.
“I’ve been pleased with how much he has been improving. Karl Campbell has been really good for us, too.”
