The side travelled to Hamilton to play the Hamilton Kangaroos at the culmination of day of football and came away comfortable winners.
It was a solid defensive effort by the side as it won 5.3 (33) to 3.0 (18).
Coach Mat Taylor was pleased after his side’s win.
“It was a very good performance and everyone played their part in the game,” he said.
Taylor did not know what to expect when he took over the role ahead the season and just hoped to see improvement from one round to the next.
“It’s been an amazing journey with this group of girls,” he said.
“I didn’t think it would pan out like this but they have put in the hard work.
“Each week they’ve picked up something different.”
Vice-captain Coco Ledger was awarded the best on ground medal in a tight race ahead of fellow vice-captain Tara Jasper and Vic Country representative Rene Caris.
“It was really just a great team effort though,” he said.
“Every one of the players did one or two things to contribute during the game, that was the most pleasing aspect of the game.”
Earlier in the day the Horsham Demons managed to defeat the Stawell Warriors in the play off match between fifth and sxith.
Following the days games the best and fairest vote count for the league was held.
