Linc Munro died on Saturday night after he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, or a Central Nervous System tumour on his brain earlier this year.
Last month, doctors at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne said Linc had two to three months to live.
However, fundraisers didn’t stop there, with people all across the state wanting to support the family.
A Facebook page, Love4Linc, was set up to keep people updated on the fundraising efforts and Linc’s health. The Minyip-Murtoa community sold lolly bags to raise money for Linc on Saturday.
The bags were sold at the Minyip-Murtoa versus Warrack Eagles football game.
Organiser Casey Kosch said it was a huge day.
“We sold 320 bags in two hours,” she said.
“The generosity of people was amazing.”
Ms Kosch had called for people to donate items for the lolly bags.
She said she wanted them to be full of some of Lincs favorite things, including pineapple and Milko lollies, Batman and anything green.
She said the lolly bag sales raised $1700.
She thanked the residents for their donations.
The Love4Linc committee will host its Every Moment Matters community event at Warracknabeal Racecourse next week.
This will be a day to celebrate the effect Linc had on the community. There will be activities for children, head shaves, live music, stalls, food vans and an auction.
Items to be auctioned include a ride-on mower and a signed Western Bulldogs jumper.
The free event will be on July 15 from 1pm.
