After a quick start and a strong finish, the Rams defeated Noradjuha-Quantong 12.16 (88) to 8.6 (54).
The Rams will now take on Edenhope-Apsley, and whoever wins will play in finals.
Bombers coach Heath Francis said it was an opportunity missed.
“We could have caused an upset but we let ourselves down a couple times throughout the game,” he said.
“We had a slow start in the first quarter kicking with the wind.”
After the first quarter the Rams led 3.4 (22) to 0.3 (3).
The Bombers fought back valiantly in the second term and narrowed the margin to 10 points.
“We played well into the wind in the second quarter,” Francis said.
“I spoke a bit about the second quarter at half-time and said if we played like that for the rest of the game we could win. In the third quarter we were in front early but they got on top of us.”
At the end of the third quarter the Rams led 8.13 (61) to 6.5 (41).
“We kicked the first goal in the final quarter but dropped off from there – we shot ourselves in the foot,” Francis said.
“It was a reasonable game and we got a lot out of it, even though we lost.”
Cam Bruce was named best on field for the second week in a row for the Bombers, while Rams defender John Lovel was best on field for the home side.
