He said Saturday was absolutely fabulous and that everyone had enjoyed themselves.
“It was really great and I think Dimboola needed something like this,” he said.
“The town committee was running the barbecue during the day, the footy club did well out of selling drink on Saturday night and I’m pretty sure the Dimboola Pub also did well when we had dinner there on Friday night.”
After slalom and tricks runs all through the day attention turned to the excitement of tricks and jumps under lights on Saturday.
Barefoot South Australia member Ben Franks managed to fly 26.5 metres through the air to win top honours.
His jump bettered that of Ballarat’s Michael Taylor and NSW entrant TJ Rosso.
“It was just a really great couple of days and I don’t think it could have gone much better that it did,” Gaulke said.
The club is currently in talks to make the event an annual one with hopes of drawing skiers from even further afield if the right dates can be locked down.
“We have only received positive feedback so far which is a great sign,” Gaulke said. “We only really had eight weeks to organise the weekend so if we can organise a date to run it annually we are confident we can make it even bigger.”
