Colts will likely feature as one of the teams to beat once again after winning the two-day grand final and falling short in the one-day grand final in 2016-17.
The side will come up against Lubeck-Murtoa in the first round, its vanquisher in the one day grand final.
Dean Arnott said the Colts side will likely look different at the start of the season. “We haven’t trained too much yet so this week will be about blowing some cobwebs out and coming together as a side,” he said. “A few new faces will get their chances to impress early.”
Jung will host the Horsham Saints in the grade’s other game. The Saints went down to Colts in the two-day grand final. Captain Brad Sproule hopes a young side will improve again. “We’ve been looking pretty good in terms of numbers so far and we’ll have plenty of young players again,” he said. “Haydn Smith will play a big role again and it is great to have Craig Klemm returning.”
