The black-tie lunch raises money for the community.
Rupanyup Major Events president Tess Healy said everything was organised for this year’s event. “The marquee is up and we started doing the full setup on Wednesday night,” she said.
“We are getting pretty good at setting up these days, so it doesn’t take too long.”
Ms Healy said tickets for this year’s banquet sold out within minutes. “We had a big waiting list of people who wanted tickets,” she said.
“The demand creates a positive vibe for the committee – it’s good to know that people love it.”
Ms Healy said good weather was expected for the banquet.
