The team has won all five of its games and sit top of the table. Coach Gareth Hiscock said the break would be beneficial for his team.
“We’ve effectively got a three-week break, so it gives everyone a chance to have a bit of a spell,” he said.
“There were quite a few sore bodies after the weekend. The rest won’t hurt us.”
Although the team is yet to lose a game, Hiscock said the girls were not getting ahead of themselves.
“[The players] are experienced. They know it’s not all about the home and away results,” Hiscock said.
The Lady Hornets will face the Bendigo Braves in Bendigo on November 25, which looms as an intriguing contest. Hiscock said the team was looking forward to the challenge.
“When we played Bendigo a couple weeks ago, both teams had players missing...everyone is still sounding each other out a bit. We were lucky to get the win. When teams are at full-strength at the end of the season, that could all change.”
Bendigo is second on the ladder, but have only played three games, winning two.
“The week or two leading up to the Bendigo game we will train hard,” Hiscock said.
