The award, announced on Monday, acknowledged the best apprentice from the Gordon TAFE Institute.
Miss Quick has been hairdressing at the Horsham salon for four years.
This was her final year as an apprentice. She became fully qualified in June.
An apprentice was nominated by their teacher or manager at their place of work for the award.
Miss Quick said she “fell in love” with hairdressing after doing work experience at D’Coco Hair Studio.
“I got an assistant job here and I just fell in love with it,” she said.
Miss Quick said she loved long hair styling and creative colour work.
She said she didn’t plan on leaving Horsham any time soon.
“I don’t really plan on moving anywhere. I am pretty happy (at D’Coco). There are some training days coming up with our colour company I might apply for,” she said.
“It’s called the Matrix hot team. People get nominated and you apply for a big day where you work with some big-name hair stylists.”
Miss Quick said she learned different skills from every hair stylist she met.
”Everyone has their own way of doing things so I suppose you pick things you love best and make your own style,” she said.
