Hindmarsh council votes to continue meeting location rotation

HINDMARSH Shire Council will continue its policy of meeting in each of its main towns at least once a year.

Council adopted the practice this year to rotate its twice-monthly meetings.

Last week, councillors voted to continue the rotation system in 2018.

Council will host one meeting in Jeparit and Rainbow each year, two in Dimboola, and the remainder in Nhill.

The Jeparit meeting will be at the town’s memorial hall on February 21, while the Rainbow meeting will be at the Rainbow MECCA on October 3.

The Dimboola meetings will be at the Dimboola Health and Fitness Centre on March 21 and September 5.

Council will host one of its Nhill meetings at the town’s community centre, on November 7.

Hindmash council meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Its first meeting of 2018 will be in February.

Most Wimmera councils do not meet in January.
