Hose said he was excited about the opportunity to return to a senior coaching role.
“When the club approached me about taking over the role it really appealed to me,” he said.
“Noticing the juniors have made the under-17s grand final the last three years shows there is a lot of potential there to work with and that really excited me.
“I really like the idea of working with a group that is ready to develop.”
Hose previously held the senior coach role at Beulah in 2006, 2013 and 2014 – the club where he grew up playing junior football.
He was also assistant coach at the club for one season in 2012 and for three seasons when playing in Cairns from 2007 to 2009.
“My coaching philosophy comes from coaches I’ve played under where we have been successful,” he said.
“I’ve been lucky enough to play in five premierships so all those structures and strategies that I use have come from those guys.”
Hose said as yet he did not know a great deal about the playing list but he knew that mot of them were from the area.
“I like the direction that the club is going by trying to keep the locals to hang around in order to take the senior team further up the ladder,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to helping that happen.”
Senior football director Rodney Hogan said the club was looking for a coach that would tick a number of boxes and that Hose fit the bill.
“We wanted someone that was going to develop kids and we wanted someone that was going to be a great leader and bring some structures,” he said.
The club also announced that Rohan Adams would continue as reserves coach.
President Tim Kelly said Adams’ leadership was second to none.
“He leads by example and wears his heart on his sleeve,” he said.
