This year marked the eighth time the town had hosted the annual event.
Organiser ThaBlay Sher KhinShwe said day included performances and speeches.
She said the celebrations provided a chance for people from all parts of the community to come together.
“It was a really nice day,” she said. “We had lots of people come along – any people came and went throughout the day though because the hot weather.
“We were very happy with the program, there was a lot of performers and everyone did an amazing job.”
Ms Sher said it was good to see so many people involved in the celebrations.
“There was a lot of team work,” she said. The celebrations were followed by a community sports competition, which has become a staple of the event each year.
People played soccer, volleyball and cane ball.
