The event is played at golf clubs all around the state with metropolitan, peninsula and regional qualifying events taking place before the state final in March in Sorrento.
Horsham Golf Club captain Peter Jackson said welcoming a state competition to Horsham would be a big occasion.
“It gives us exposure,” he said.
“We are given the opportunity to put our course in front of everyone who wants to play and show what a great facility we have.”
Mr Jackson said the club would be able to welcome golfers from around the state to see what the Horsham course has to offer.
“We get quite a few visitors come to these events from far away, in some cases,” he said.
“People come from all around the Wimmera and Mallee.
“We believe we have a lovely course here. It can be difficult at times and it is a beautiful course to play on.
“We welcome anybody who wants to come have a hit with us but particularity events like this give us a real opportunity to showcase the course. Hopefully people will want to come back and have a hit with us.”
Teams of two will be able to compete in men’s, women’s and mixed competitions with tee-off expected for 7.45am.
Registration is still open by calling the Horsham Pro Shop on 5382 3312 or entering online at golfvic.org.au/fourball.
