A MAN in his 20s is in The Alfred hospital in Melbourne after falling while climbing at Mt Arapiles on Wednesday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said crews were called to the mountain about 3pm.
Emergency services crews carried the man out.
“He was taken by air ambulance to The Alfred with injuries to his legs and arms, and a suspected spinal injury,” the spokeswoman said.
“He was in a stable condition when he was transferred.”
UPDATE – 4.07PM WEDNESDAY
A ROCK climber has fallen eight metres at Mt Arapiles.
Country Fire Authority District 17 duty officer Craig Brittain said it was a 20-year-old man who fell.
Mr Brittain said the Natimuk brigade was called at 2.54pm to help Ambulance Victoria crews carry out the rock climber on a stretcher.
EARLIER – 3.19PM WEDNESDAY
EMERGENCY services crews are responding to a request for assistance at Mt Arapiles.
Crews were called to the Centenary Park Access Track just before 3pm on Wednesday.
