It was the first junior tournament at Nhill in two years, with more than 70 competitors from around the Wimmera heading to the event.
Eliza Hobbs took out the under-10 girls singles title, Phillipa Bush the under-12s girls singles, Brooklyn Faser the under 14s and Genevieve Bush the over-15s girls title.
In the boys, Logan Casey won the under-12s singles, Edmund Bush the under-14s and Jacob Holm the over-15s.
Tournament adviser Rae Kennedy said it was great to have the tournament back at Nhill and to showcase the Nhill Lawn Tennis Club’s new hardcourts.
“It was a lovely day – it was a bit cold in the morning but was nice and warm in the afternoon,” she said. “All the children were really good sports and our Nhill players tried their best.”
The tournament concluded a series of junior points tournaments which have taken place throughout the Wimmera during summer. At the event, aggregate winners were announced for each age group, taking into account performances at all the tournaments this season at Central Park, Warracknabeal, Haven and Nhill.
