Milton resident Grant Schultz, a supporter of Fairfax Media’s FIX IT NOW highway campaign, has sent footage another driver provided to him of a terrifying incident on April 12, 2018.
Mr Schultz described the footage of a car having to take evasive action as another vehicle approached on the wrong side of the road as “confronting”.
“This occurred on April 12, south of Moruya and just south of Noggarula Creek,” Mr Schultz said.
“The video says it all.
“Some outstanding defensive driving probably saved his and the other driver’s lives. (It was a) cool calm and considered response to a near head-on.”
Mr Schultz himself encountered a similar near-miss the same week.
“Sadly (It is) not a one-off on this road; I had a near identical near miss on the Princes Highway south of Nowra only the day before,” Mr Schultz said.
“The car travelling north was in overtaking lanes and drifted across the double white lines. about three-quarters of the car was in the oncoming (my) lane.”
