Joining them for the first time were newcomers, Mrs Doris Guest and her daughter, Marie, and Mr and Mrs Gary Douglas who we hope to have come along on a regular basis.
As our guest speaker was unable to attend, we had an impromptu singalong with fellow "Parkinsonite", Noel Taylor accompanying us on the trumpet.
Our newly printed Wimmera Parkinson's Peer Support Group information brochure was handed out to those attending the peer support group meeting.
It is hoped that copies of this informative leaflet will be available in both medical and hospital areas throughout the region to assist newly diagnosed patients and their families.
Through the welcome generosity of the Horsham Rural City Council, the gardeners will provide and plant in an area at the Botanical Gardens, known as the basket,100 tulips for Parkinson's Victoria.
Tesselaars Bulbs are offering to return a big percentage of its sales to Parkinson's as a fundraiser.
It is hoped to have tulip, strong gold and the black tulip, Queen of the night,(a deep purple colour) flowering at this year's Spring Garden Festival.
Our next meeting will be held in June, however, some members hope to attend special seminars to be held at three venues in Victoria later this month.
