Rupanyup started the better of the two sides, and held a four-goal lead at half time.

Missed shots on goal hurt the Panthers, as the side kept Noradjuha-Quantong within reaching distance. 

Rupanyup led by three goals at three quarter time and then kicked the first two goals of the final quarter to be seemingly cruising towards the four points. 

From then on, everything went the way of the Bombers, kicking six goals straight to register a memorable victory. 

Noradjuha-Quantong’s senior coach Gareth Hose said it was a confidence-boosting win. 

“We never gave up hope and we knew we had the legs,” he said. “Everyone just stepped up. It was a really gutsy win and they had a real desire to get the job done. We went into today’s game without four starting players. We filled those positions with fast youngsters and we are just wrapped with the win.” 

Shane Oakley kicked four goals for the Bombers, while Trent Grant also kicked a bag of four for the Panthers. 

Hose said the Bombers’ skill errors were costly, but could not doubt the effort of his players.

“Early in the game it was pretty even but they were probably a bit on top,” he said. “We made a lot of skill errors but we were winning a lot of the contested footy again. Our effort was fantastic.”
