Both teams were carrying substantial injury lists into the contest, with the Storm able to dip into its reserves to help it deliver another win.
Ash Clugston kicked a game-high four goals for the Storm. The side led by 30 points at half time and pushed on in the final quarter.
Storm coach Tim Inkster said Rupanyup dropped off in the end as the Storm kicked six goals in the last quarter.
“I think we covered our injuries pretty well,” he said. “It wasn’t until the last quarter that we were in control. They had a good third quarter and were still in the game.”
Inkster said his side would know where it’s at after the interleague bye.
“We have played some of the bottom sides but play Edenhope-Apsley and Harrow-Balmoral after the bye, so that will sort us out,” he said.
