Coach Mark Hildebrandt said after missing out on an opportunity to play an interleague fixture in 2017 there had been plenty of eager players put their hand up to represent the league.
“There have been some injuries to some key players in the last couple of rounds but in general everyone that we’ve asked to play has put their hands up,” he said. “You go through stages where you have plenty of players to chose from and then there are other seasons where you have less.”

Hildebrandt said he wanted his team to play a free-flowing style of football that supporters would enjoy coming to see.
“We’ve got some really handy players in our side who will use the ball very well,” he said. “Hopefully we can play some really attractive football and there will be a good crowd.”
The Bellarine side will only feature a handful of players who came up short when it travelled to take on the Wimmera league in 2015. Hildebrandt said he was unsure what to expect from his opposition given so much can change within country football in a short period of time.
“Until the first bounce we are much more focused in on ourselves and what we will be doing – I expect they will be doing the same,” he said.
“Last time around they were keen to flood back against us early and we were probably too full forward conscious. I think this time around we’ve got a few more options down there to get us a winning score.”
