The Horsham Chaplaincy Book Fair was on Friday and Saturday.
Horsham Chaplaincy Committee Book Fair organiser Yolande Grosser said she was amazed at how many people came through the doors.
“We thought it would be a quiet start to Friday but then suddenly people rushed in.
“There was 100 people early on and the room remained 100 for most of the day,” she said.
Book sales amounted to $5887.25.
“I haven’t seen a number that high before; we’rte really overjoyed with the total,” she said.
Mrs Grosser said there were people of all ages at the book fair.
“There was a 90 year old woman and I saw a couple babies in prams, so I think that covers almost all ages,” she said.
A gold coin donation cafe ran in conjunction with the book fair and the money raised from the cafe would go towards a scholarship for the alternate programs students.
The cafe raised $129.40.
The next Book Fair will be held in November.
Mrs Grosser said people could donate items at the double storey building next to Maroske Hall during school hours.
