Organised by the Horsham East Rotary Club, the fair was part of this year’s Art Is… Festival.
Horsham East Rotary Club Wimmera Art Fair chairman Chris O’Connor said the club was aiming to raise $8000 for the Wimmera Cancer Centre.
“We’re raising money to pay for an oncology chair as part of the Rachael’s Wish fundraising appeal,” he said.
“These chairs cost $8000 each and they need 16 of them.”
This will be the second chair the club has donated to the hospital.
“These chairs are crucial for the hospital so crucial dialyses can be done,” he said.
He said the fair had been successful and that the club’s fundraising goal would hopefully be met.
“We had over 200 people attend our opening on Friday, which was opened by Horsham Mayor Pam Clarke,” he said.
“We’ve also had students from Horsham College come by and they were blown away with the artworks.
“There have been a lot of people through over the long weekend.
“The club will donate $8000 no matter how much is raised.
“It’s just to have something like this in Horsham that is so supported by the local community.”
Artists featured in the fair came from across the Wimmera.
“There are some from Donald, Nhill, Warracknabeal and a few from Horsham of course,” he said.
This was 41st year the fair had been held.
