Six silos currently make up the trail, located at Brim, Sheep Hills, Rupanyup, Patchewollock, Rosebery and Lascelles.
Ms Ballentine said she would love to see painted silos across the region.
“We would like to see a block of silo art in the Wimmera Mallee to help make the region a true tourist destination,” she said.
“The idea would be to expand the trail to Buloke, West Wimmera and Hindmarsh shires, which make up Wimmera Mallee Tourism.
“We also think that it’s very important that the Silo Art Trail is acknowledged as one of the best projects that Yarriambiack council has put in place in a very long time.
“Certainly it is earning some overseas recognition. There’s interest in cycling around the Silo Art Trail and professional photographers are helping promote it.”
Ms Ballentine wanted to encourage people from towns in the Buloke, West Wimmera and Hindmarsh shires to contact Wimmera Mallee Tourism with silo trail ideas.
“I know some people have applied for funding for silo art in their towns through the state government’s Pick My Project campaign,” she said.
“I’ve heard that people from Kaniva, Nullawil and Albacutya have.
“But what we’d really like to see is these people contact us to get involved in a more cohesive approach.
“We had Silo Art Trail part two planned, but we haven’t seen any more funding.
“There was a meeting in Watchem on Tuesday and fingers crossed that some more money will come through.”
She said there was currently a governance review going on to decide whether Wimmera Mallee Tourism became recognised as part of Grampians Tourism.
“A new model is being worked on,” she said.
“It could give Wimmera Mallee Tourism a lot of power and access to funding in the future.”
Wimmera Mallee Tourism covers 14 per cent of the state.
