Infrastructure and Planning acting director Bernie Naylor said council had initially advertised for tenders for those towns from May 1, but hadn’t received any submissions.
“We received no tenders to provide meals for Hopetoun, Warracknabeal, Minyip and Patchewollock, so we re-tendered that, which closed on June 26,” he said.
“Thankfully we have now received tenders for all those townships so they will be serviced.”
Council awarded contracts to Murtoa and District Neighbourhood House, Woomelang General Store and Victoria Hotel to provide meals.
The number of Meals on Wheels services in the shire have decreased drastically in the past two years.
In May 2016, 1073 meals were served, while 754 were served in May 2017. Now numbers have dropped to 657 as of May 2018.
Meals on Wheels services for Beulah, Rupanyup and Minyip are still suspended due to a lack of numbers.
Numbers are decreasing in Woomelang, which currently only has two clients.
