Australia’s best under-18 girl footballers are on the Gold Coast for the annual competition this week.
Vic Country took on home-state team Queensland in their first match of the competition, claiming a comfortable 10.7 (67) to 1.5 (11) victory at Metricon Stadium.
Caris kicked one goal and was second best on ground in the victory. Former Ararat Storm and 2018 Rebels best and fairest winner Georgia Clarke competed alongside Caris, marking her third national championships.
Clarke was shortlisted to the 52-girl All Australian squad after strong performances at last year’s event. Vic Country will play two more games for the week, playing Central Allies on Wednesday and Western Australia on Friday.
