The great-grandmother will have nine family members either coaching or playing on the day, representing both the Rams and the Southern Roos. 

Her grandson Dean Hobbs coaches the Rams’ under-14s football and her other grandson Ryan McClure coaches Harrow-Balmoral’s under-17s football. 

She also has grandchildren playing netball and football for the two clubs as well as five great-grandchildren covering the football minis up to the 15 and under netball.

Ms O’Reilly said it was sure to be a busy day.  

“They’re very hard games because you have to try and run all over the place to try and see everyone,” she said. 

“You can’t prioritise any one family member, you have to try and get everywhere. 

“Sometimes we only catch a half of each one. I do enjoy watching both football and netball. I have a great-niece and great-nephew also playing for Harrow-Balmoral.”

Ms O’Reilly said with family members on either side there can sometimes be some tense moments. 

“When Dean played senior football for Natimuk against Harrow-Balmoral one day I was barracking for Dean and all the girls from Harrow-Balmoral told me to get out of the car,” she said.

“I’ve been going to the football and netball for years. I remember once Dean gave his cousin Jed, who was playing for Harrow-Balmoral, a kiss on his head, and everyone thought they were having an argument.”
